On Saturday 20 May 2023, six employees of Mazars Luxembourg participated in the 16th ING Night Marathon Luxembourg event; two of the runners started in the marathon and four in the half-marathon.
Muhammad Hossen, Managing Partner of Mazars Luxembourg and Global Head of Asset Management for Mazars Groupe, supported the sporting challenge of his employees into a solidarity act by donating €15 per kilometre covered by the brave runners. Beyond the sporting event, the idea was to get involved for a good cause through the humanitarian partner of the marathon. This is how the audit and consulting firm contacted SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde for a first partnership with the association.
To celebrate the success of the runners, Mazars Luxembourg, represented by Fabien Delante, Partner - Financial Services, Hugo Dumas, Partner - Head of Tax, and Baptiste Zinsius, Marketing Officer, invited two employees of SOS Villages d' Enfants Monde, Anne Schweizer, Partnerships Manager, and Lisa Forrler, Communications and Fundraising Officer, to present them with a cheque for €2,532. At the recent cheque handover, they presentation the project and thanked Mazars Luxembourg and congratulated the six members involved in the race.
The €2,532 will be allocated to a project focused on the resilience of populations in the Great South of Madagascar who have been facing drought and famine for years. This project aims to help strengthen the rights of children and women who are among the most vulnerable. The support of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde focuses on two main areas, access to drinking water and access to education for young and old in the Androy region (construction and equipment of classrooms through cash-for-work activities). By the end of the year, some 2,000 children and adults should benefit from the positive effects of this project, which focuses on community development.
