Last month, the children of the Bruch school in Esch-sur-Alzette ran 15 minutes per class on the school's "multisports ground" to raise funds for a good cause; in the end, the pupils raised €3,080 to help the victims of the earthquakes last February which killed more than 50,000 people and injured more than 100,000 others in Turkey and Syria.
The sum was symbolically handed over to the director of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde during a friendly cheque presentation which took place at the Bruch school.
The funds will be used for the emergency aid project set up by SOS Children's Villages in Syria for children and families in Aleppo and Latakia. After the distribution of basic necessities, in particular baby kits and clothing and financial aid, the support will focus on the rehabilitation of housing and support in the resumption of activities.
