After two years in “connected” format, this year’s Relais pour la Vie (relay for life) fundraising event took place in a hybrid format on 25 and 26 March 2023, with the in-person part held at the Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
More than 500 teams and 13,000 people relayed across Luxembourg and beyond its borders for 24 hours.
259 teams and 7,486 individuals participated face-to-face in the Coque and many (243 teams and 5,218 participants) showed their “connected” solidarity across Luxembourg and beyond.
Relais pour la Vie 2023 raised a record amount of €791,078. The organiser Fondation Cancer expressed its delight with this result, which exceeded expectations and once again demonstrated the generosity and commitment of the Luxembourg population in the fight against cancer.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to the success of Relais pour la Vie 2023. Their support is crucial in helping us provide support services to those affected by cancer, fund cancer research and raise awareness to this disease which affects more and more people each year,” stated Dr Carole Bauer, President of Fondation Cancer.
As every year, several teams were rewarded for their exceptional commitment. The teams competed in six categories to win a "Trophée de l'Espoir" (trophy of hope). The winning teams were:
- Maison Relais of the Mondercange municipality (category: associations and clubs): €7,960
