Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports homeless people and vulnerable members of society, has reported that Schroder Investment Management recently donated over €15,000 to help finance equipment for the former's social restaurant in Ettelbruck.
At the invitation of Giovanna Esposito and on behalf of the Charity Committee of Schroder Investment Management (Europe), chaired by Vanessa Grueneklee, Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, accepted a cheque for €15,446.67.
This sum will finance part of the equipment of the new social restaurant in Ettelbruck, located at 47 Rue Prince Henri, which opened on 2 February 2023.
Vanessa Grueneklee noted, however: "You can't save the world with money alone. We want to teach our children that helping also means getting your hands dirty. For this reason, we also work on voluntary actions within our company and would like to continue to support the Stëmm vun der Strooss in the long term."
For Alexandra Oxacelay, the message is clear because "corporate social responsibility [...] arrived in Luxembourg barely ten years ago and very slowly the mentality is changing. Now it is also up to the associations to open their doors to the private sector by imagining meaningful collaborations."
