Luxembourg residents and spouses Alena Baeva, a Russian violinist, and Vadym Kholodenko, a Ukrainian pianist, will perform at the Banque de Luxembourg headquarters auditorium on Friday 29 April 2022 at 19:00 during a classical charity concert to collect funds for Ukrainian refugees in the Grand Duchy.

Initiated by Luxembourg based RuHelp ASBL - Russians against the war, which nurtures a long-lasting friendship with virtuoso Alena Baeva, the charity concert aims to collect funds to support Ukrainian refugees and finance support structures for Ukrainian children in particular.

We consider it our duty not to stand aside. RuHelp’s mission is to help people affected by this terrible and unjust war. We call on everyone who doesn’t accept this war to take part in the humanitarian activities, either organised by us or by any other non-profit organisation. Every effort, even the smallest one, means a lot”, said the organisers.

Alexander Tkachenko, the founder and managing partner of VNX and 2be.lu, added: “This war is a terrible tragedy and all efforts should be to stop it and help people suffering from it”.

Alena Baeva and Vadym Kholodenko spontaneously agreed to interrupt their international concert tour and play at the RuHelp – Russians against the war charity concert to raise funds.

Alena Baeva sayid: “We are aiming to rise donations to help Ukranian families who had to flee due to the atrocities, caused by the war, and to raise attention to an important fact that an significant part of the Russian community in Luxembourg strongly condemns the invasion of Russia and this unimaginable war in Ukraine”. She continued: “We have done a benefit concert just last week in Paris. Separately and together with other musicians we have played a number of charity concerts for Ukraine in different countries in between our busy professional engagements. It is important for us to do the same in Luxembourg”.

The charity concert takes place this Friday at Banque de Luxembourg (14 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg).

Violonist Alena Baeva and Pianist Vadym Kholodenko will play works from Bach over Skorik, Mozart over Bloch to Tchaikovsky. Tickets are sold at a minimum of €40.
