Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Belle Etoile shopping centre opted to hand out special treat bags to the families of children with cancer instead of holding its traditional Saint Nicholas visit.

The shopping centre gave 300 treat bags for Saint Nicholas to the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner in Luxembourg, to be distributed among the families of children suffering from cancer or other rare life-threatening illnesses.

Representatives of the foundation thanked their long-standing partner and pledged to hand over the bags to the many families. They pointed out that since the onset of the health crisis, the conditions of families with children undergoing heavy treatment have become more complicated. In addition, the generosity of the general public has fallen sharply, generating a significant drop in donations since the start of summer.

Any solidarity support initiative is thus more welcome than ever in order to allow the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner team to continue its commitment to the families of seriously ill children and adolescents in Luxembourg.
