Stëmm vun der Strooss has annoucned that it has received a donation of over €47,000 that will go towards purchasing a new delivery van in its care to the homeless and velnerable members of our society.
The Julius Baer Group donated CHF 5 million during the Covid-19 crisis to various emergency relief measures, in aid of those affected who need immediate and urgent help in the current coronavirus crisis. The contributions went directly to programmes in the field of first aid, which fight the consequences of the pandemic in various areas and are aimed at the most vulnerable population groups. In Switzerland, CHF 3 million was donated to the Swiss Red Cross and the Pro Senectute organization.
Outside Switzerland, CHF 2 million was allocated internationally to a wide variety of institutions, including CHF 50,000 (€47,285.80) to the Luxembourg organization Stëmm vun der Strooss. "It is very important to us to support Stëmm vun der Strooss, an organisation from the region that works for the socially disadvantaged," said Falk Fischer, CEO of Bank Julius Baer Europe S.A. in Luxemburg.
In particular, the effects of social isolation and the lack of care for those who are more dependent during these times are to be mitigated. Thanks to the generous donation from Bank Julius Baer Europe S.A., Stëmm vun der Strooss is able to buy a new delivery van. "We are very happy to be able to ensure the supply and logistics of various projects in the future," said Alexandra Oxacelay, managing director of the association. With over 200,000 km and a good run of almost 10 years, the current van has done its duty and needs to be replaced.
