Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has reported that it recently received a donation from Fraen a Mammen Berdorf.
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, the annual general meeting (AGM) of Fraen a Mammen Berdorf (supporting community engagement and family-related activities for women and mothers in the Berdorf region) on Wednesday 26 March 2025 was a “key moment” for the non-profit organisation, marked by a solid fundraising effort that reached a total of €25,670.
This amount mainly comes from the proceeds of the Haupeschfest 2024 arts and crafts market (in Berdorf) and was redistributed to various organisations, including: Télévie (supporting cancer and leukaemia research, particularly in children); Stëmm vun der Strooss (supporting social and professional reintegration of people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion); Stroossenengelen (supporting vulnerable individuals and families through direct aid and social assistance); Île aux Clowns (supporting hospitalised children and elderly people through therapeutic clown visits); Femmes en Détresse (supporting women and children affected by domestic violence and difficult life situations); Initiative Liewensufank (supporting expectant and new parents through perinatal counselling and care).
Stëmm vun der Strooss thanked Fraen a Mammen Berdorf “for their significant support.”
The AGM was also an opportunity for an important development within Fraen a Mammen Berdorf, with the addition of four new members to the committee. The secretary, Christine Kaps, presented the activity report, while the treasurer, Marie-France Siebenaler, presented the financial report, the press release noted.
The current committee consists of sixteen members: President Linda Hartmann, Vice-President Christiane Anen, Secretary Christine Kaps, Treasurer Marie-France Siebenaler, and members Mireille Birkel, Myriam Coner-Figgle, Elisabete Dias, Germaine Greischer, Alma Karic, Martine Konsbrück, Yvonne Lima, Anne Muller, Petz Neumann, Mariette Rassel, Yvonne Pistola and Sandra Schneider.
