On Thursday 4 June 2026, CK Charles Kieffer Group marked its 80th anniversary with a celebration at the CK Sportcenter Kockelscheuer, attended by nearly 400 guests, including partners, employees, public officials and members of civil society.
The celebration took place in the presence of Luxembourg's Minister of Sport, Agriculture, Food, Viticulture and Consumer Protection, Martine Hansen, Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, Luxembourg's Minister for Digitalisation, Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin, and Luxembourg's Minister of Labour, Marc Spautz.
"Eighty years is a long time, and during that period a great deal has changed," noted Minister Obertin. She highlighted what she described as two key points of connection between the company's development and Luxembourg's own evolution: digital transformation and the promotion of sport and wellbeing. Minister Obertin praised CK Charles Kieffer Group's role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through technological change, while also recognising its longstanding commitment to health and sport.
"Creativity knows no limits," remarked Corinne Cahen, Alderman of the City of Luxembourg responsible for Social Affairs, Senior Citizens, Integration and Housing. She praised the entrepreneurial spirit of CK Charles Kieffer Group and its founder, Charles Kieffer, highlighting the company's openness to innovation and its ability to evolve over the decades. Corinne Cahen also noted that the group's combination of business services and sport reflects a broader commitment to helping people perform at their best, both professionally and personally.
Reflecting on the company's achievements in recent years, David Gray, General Manager of CK Charles Kieffer Group, told Chronicle.lu: "We have diversified our activities. We are no longer only focused on office printing technologies, but also on IT outsourcing activities. In sport, we have developed padel courts and expanded our offer. Looking ahead, we want to continue integrating new technologies such as AI and bring together physical and digital document solutions for our customers."
David Gray added that the group's long-term objective extends beyond fitness and sport: "The main achievement we are working on now, and will continue to work on in the coming years, is bringing health to our customers. It's not only about sport and fitness, but also about promoting health through specific programmes. Our baseline is 'healthy people, healthy business' and this is what links all our activities together."
Today, CK Charles Kieffer Group employs 225 people and serves more than 13,500 business and sports clients across Luxembourg. Recent developments have also included the opening of the CK HUB in Grass, a new after-sales service centre designed to strengthen customer support and operational efficiency.
"The company invested around €8 million, with support from the SNCI," explained Laure Elsen, Managing Director. "This new HUB is designed to strengthen proximity with customers, improve responsiveness and support team performance."
Today, the group operates five CK Fitness centres, the most recent of which opened at the end of October in the new Cactus shopping centre in Esch-Lallange. As with the group's broader evolution, its sports facilities continue to benefit from the latest developments in fitness, health and wellbeing.
According to the group, the CK Sportcenter Kockelscheuer welcomes more than 35,000 visitors each year, while CK Fitness centres have nearly 10,000 members across Luxembourg.
Founded in 1946 in Steinfort by Charles Kieffer in the aftermath of the Second World War, the group gradually developed around two main areas of activity: business support services for companies and sport and wellbeing. From the outset, the founder promoted a vision based on balancing performance and wellbeing, an approach now reflected in the company's slogan: "healthy people, healthy business"
