Yesterday, Luxembourg Minister for Equal Opportunities Lydia Mutsch participated in the 9th edition of the Female Board Pool Seminar.
The Female Board Pool is an encounter platform that aims to connect motivated and experienced women who can serve on a board of directors with companies looking for such skills.
This initiative, which is based on the research of the Centre for Corporate Governance of the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, is supported by the ASBL Maison du Coaching, Mentoring and Consulting, under the direction of Rita Knott.
Like every year, the seminar brought together many personalities. This was an opportunity for many women members of the platform, to exchange on the topic of decision-making, and to boast their know-how.
The platform of the Female Board Pool allows companies to be inspired by profiles of women who have the necessary skills and the build to take responsibility.
The Minister emphasised the importance of this event and her personal conviction in its missions, as women are offered a very good opportunity to gain visibility and share their knowledge of decision-making.
A recent study of the Liser, ordered by the Ministry of Equal Opportunities has shown that only 23% of positions on the boards are occupied by women.
If the government is to achieve a 40% representation of the under-represented sex by 2019 on boards, and 40% in all appointments to boards of directors of private companies, As a shareholder, we must admit that there is still a long way to go.
The platform of the Female Board Pool has become an indispensable opportunity for companies to increase their percentage of women on the boards of directors and thus to choose the mix in terms of gender.
