Three start-ups of the 2016 edition of "Fit 4 Start" were rewarded yesterday at the "Fit 4 Start Graduation Day" and five new ones have been announced to be prepared to integrate the programme.
On 15 March 2017, Luxinnovation welcomed press, delegates and investors to the Fit 4 Start Fall 2016 Programme Graduation Ceremonies at which three start-ups were rewarded and five new ones emerged as in the process of being ready to join. The event took place at Luxembourg’s Incubator and co-working fab lab, Technoport.
The three graduate start-ups were announced as AIVA technology, which is an artificial Intelligence composing classical music, Passbolt, which serves as an open source password manager, and Yollty, which helps businesses incentivise their customers to engage with their social media pages.
In addition, Antoine Hron, Luxinnovation’s Head of Start-up Development, announced the winners of this year’s pitch process and the new participants for the Fit4Start Spring 2017 edition as BodyQ, Daanuu, L7Defense, Viewport, and Ziggu.
Michele Gallo from the Ministry of Economy spoke briefly at the event on the reasons for the success of the Fit 4 Start Programme, which this year had 230 applications for the Spring 2017 programme from 23 countries. He commented that: “There are key elements that make this programme a success. One, is that it is very selective. Out of more than 100 start-ups pitching, only 5 can make it to the six-week programme. Another is that the coaches work very hard to challenge the participants.”
There was also a small speech on success given by Andrew McCarthy, Whitespace Ventures Ltd, who attributed the success of start-ups to teamwork and technology.
Finally, the end of the graduation programme marked the official launch of the Fit 4 Start Spring 2017 edition including an Introduction of the jury members and coaches and pitches by the new participants.
