On Monday 7 December 2015, ING opened a new branch in the centre of the Esch-Belval business area.

Based on an innovative concept, the branch aligns perfectly with ING Luxembourg’s strategy of continuing to invest to better serve customers, confirming its presence in Luxembourg and contributing even further to the national economy and daily life.

Last year, ING moved its former branch in Esch to a new location in a modern, more prominent building in the pedestrian city centre.

Why open a new branch?

According to Frédéric Kieffer, Head of Retail Banking, there are several reasons why ING has decided to invest even further in developing its branch network: “Indeed, ING is developing e-banking and mobile banking to make certain operations faster and more available. But we’re not ignoring brick and mortar branches, which provide our customers with personalised service in a pleasant location. At a branch, it’s easier to explain more complicated products to our customers and offer them personalised advice.”

As a challenger in the Luxembourg market, ING must be present and readily available in Esch-Belval, a rapidly growing neighbourhood with high potential. By opening a new branch at Esch-Belval, ING is showing the Luxembourg market its desire for sustainable investment to develop its presence in the local market.
