Film Fund Luxembourg has reported that the Luxembourgish co-production Ernest & Célestine: le Voyage en Charabie (Ernest & Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia) features among the Annie Awards 2024 nominations.

The committee of the Annie Awards (considered the Oscars of the animation world) has just announced its 2024 nominations. The animated feature film Ernest & Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia, co-produced by Stéphan Roelants (Mélusine Productions) and directed by Julien Chheng and Jean-Christophe Roger, is among five productions to have been nominated in the "Best Animated Feature" category.

Ernest & Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia is a co-production between France and Luxembourg. 42 people were mobilised on the film at Studio 352 in Contern (Luxembourg) to work on the storyboard and the animatics, the line and colour decorations and the colour animation, the process of which was set up by the Luxembourg studio for the rendering of the first Ernest & Célestine film, released in 2012.

The Luxembourg version of the film was produced by Jang Linster's studios and was released in Luxembourg cinemas in early 2023.

The Annie Awards winners will be revealed during the 51st ceremony which is taking place in Los Angeles (US) on Saturday 17 February 2024; it will reward animated films released in the United States in 2023.
