The Grand Ducal Police have reported several theft-related incidents in recent days.

At around 18:20 on Monday 11 August 2025, the police were alerted to an attempted theft in a parking garage in the capital's train station district (Luxembourg-Gare). According to initial information, a man tried to hot-wire a motorcycle but was interrupted by a security guard. A police patrol found the suspect at the scene and took him to the station for questioning. Further investigations suggested possible links to other thefts. On the order of the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested and appeared before an investigating judge the next morning.

The police also received reports of multiple thefts from vehicles. On the evening of Tuesday 12 August 2025, an unidentified perpetrator broke a window of a vehicle on Route d'Arlon in Strassen and stole a chain. Later that evening, another theft occurred on Rue du Bois in Strassen. According to initial information, unknown perpetrators entered a vehicle, rummaged through it and stole a pair of shoes. Investigations have been launched in both cases. In a separate incident, during the night of Monday 11 to Tuesday 12 August, a suspect broke into a single-family home on Rue Neuve in Diekirch and stole several items. The individual was later apprehended at Luxembourg City's main train station. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of stolen property, which was confiscated and returned to the rightful owner. On the order of the public prosecutor, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Tuesday afternoon.
