The Luxembourg centre against radicalisation respect.lu has presented the winning song and music video of its "Respect Song Contest".
In autumn 2021, respect.lu launched its Respect Song Contest. In December 2021, the jury, composed of Simon Claridge (jury president; Radio Ara), Lynn Feith (Luxembourg's Ministry for Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region), Tony Ewen (Director of Eldoradio), David Galassi (De Läb), Gérard Bichler (President of SOS Radicalisation asbl) and Karin Weyer (head of respect.lu), chose the three winning songs.
Joé Weber, also known as Lionheart, won first prize with his "Respekt Song", a professional audio recording produced in Unison studios in Differdange, as well as a music video filmed by Lukas Grevis.
On 8 March 2022, respect.lu presented the winning song and music video to the public during a ceremony organised to celebrate the fifth anniversary of SOS Radicalisation asbl and the respect.lu centre.
"Respekt Song" invites listeners to reflect on and question what "respect" means for them and others. The music video features people from different backgrounds and generations. Partners of respect.lu will be able to use the video as a tool in the framework of continuing education and awareness and information events.
In addition to its YouTube release (see below), the music video will be posted on the Facebook page of respect.lu and the song will be played on the radio.
