The screening and award ceremony of the first edition of the "Lost Weekend 48h Film Challenge" took place last Thursday at Ciné Utopia; the event was organised in March during the Luxembourg City Film Festival (LuxFilmFest) but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
After three successful editions of its short film screenplay competition, the Filmreakter asbl organised its first cinematographic challenge this year: Lost Weekend 48h Film Challenge, a competition supported by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte and hosted by LuxFilmFest.
After the cancellation of the screening and the award ceremony on 12 March 2020, the final event of the project finally took place last week, in the presence of the eleven teams and the jury, made up of the actress Niharica Raizada, decorator Christina Schaffer, artist Michel Feinen and photographer Sven Becker. The programme was simultaneously broadcast via the internet and on the DOK TV channel.
The Skinnies team won both the Jury Award and the Audience Award with their film "Last Take", whilst the Luftwaffel team got a special mention for their film "Lemon".
The second edition of the Lost Weekend film challenge will take place as part of LuxFilmFest 2021.
