Silicon Luxembourg has announced that three Luxembourgish projects have been chosen as finalists in the Village Awards 2020.

A total of sixteen (out of 50 or so) applications have been selected and will compete in the final of this year's Village Awards to be held on 24 September 2020 at Le Village by CA Paris. Among the finalists are three (out of eight) Luxembourgish applications representing three collaborations between startups and corporates.

EmailTree, DataRobot and FIRIS have been selected to fly the Luxembourg flag an the 2020 grand finale in Paris and will attempt to win for their respective categories: efficient for the first two and “coup de coeur” for the third. This selection was made possible partly thanks to the three corporates also selected alongside the startups, namely Orange Luxembourg, Foyer and ArcelorMittal.

Amélie Madinier, head of Hub@Luxembourg, the Luxembourgish branch of the network, told Silicon Luxembourg: “I am pleased that we have three representatives in the finals. The dynamics of the Luxembourgish ecosystem have been highlighted since the announcement of this competition. Of all the “villages” in the Village by CA network, our hub is one of those that has seen the most duets selected".

Positioned as a business accelerator between corporates and startups, the Hub@Luxembourg has joined forces with the Luxembourg Open Innovation Club (LOIC) to find the best projects. Among the three selected, EmailTree and Orange Luxembourg have initiated the events organised by the LOIC. Coordinated by the House of Startups (HoST), the club is dedicated to the development of business relations between large accounts, intermediate-sized enterprises and innovative startups through open innovation.
