The Grand Ducal Police reported several incidents involving shoplifting, theft from a vehicle, and driving under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday 17 March 2026.

On Tuesday afternoon, a shoplifting incident took place in a store at a shopping centre in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, where a man attempted to steal several bottles of perfume. A police patrol promptly located the suspect and recovered and confiscated the stolen goods.

A second shoplifting incident occurred in a store on Route d’Arlon in Strassen, where a person stole several items.Later in the afternoon, another shoplifting incident occurred in a store on Route d’Arlon in Strassen, where a person stole several items. A police patrol found the suspect. During a body search, officers recovered and confiscated the stolen goods and a bank card.

Also in the afternoon, an unknown perpetrator broke into a vehicle on Rue de la Paix in Dudelange and searched it for valuables. The perpetrator stole a wallet containing cash. The police launched an investigation.

In the evening, two additional shoplifting incidents occurred in a store on Place Guillaume in Luxembourg-Ville. In both cases, a man and a woman stole several items. A police patrol located them shortly afterwards and recovered the stolen goods.

That same evening, the police received a report about a vehicle on a field path in Mondercange, whose driver was possibly under the influence of alcohol. A police patrol went to the scene and the driver tested positive for alcohol. Officers confiscated his driving licence.

Later that evening, the police received a report about an accident on Op Kisecker in Berdorf, where a possibly intoxicated cyclist had fallen. The individual behaved uncooperatively towards emergency responders. A police patrol went to the scene and officers brought the man to a hospital for examination. The alcohol test returned positive. The cyclist continued to behave uncooperatively towards the police. Due to his condition and because he disturbed public order, officers placed him in custody following a medical examination.
