The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, as part of international cooperation, a cross-border operation focusing on drug enforcement and road safety took place on Tuesday 14 October 2025 near the Wemperhardt roundabout in Luxembourg and on the N62 in Belgium.

The checks were carried out between 15:00 and 20:00, with the participation of officers from the Grand Ducal Police (including officers from various police stations, the traffic police, the criminal investigation department and the canine unit), as well as colleagues from the Belgian traffic and criminal police, and customs officers from Belgium and Germany.

On Luxembourg territory, two drivers received fines for using mobile phones while driving. Two others failed to present valid technical inspection certificates and another driver lacked a valid tax sticker.

In addition, two motorists were found driving without a licence, one driver did not have a safety vest and two others received warnings for cracked windshields.

Two vehicles were immobilised because they were not insured.

On the Belgian side (N62), one driver was fined for defective tyres, while four others received fines for technical defects or issues with their vehicle documents.

In two cases, reports were issued for drug possession.

During the check on Belgian territory, one vehicle was also stopped for having false licence plates. It was neither registered nor insured and had not undergone a technical inspection. The vehicle was impounded, and further investigations have been launched.
