The Grand Ducal Police have reported that an intoxicated man was taken into protective custody following an altercation on a public bus in Mamer on Monday 3 August 2026.
According to the police, officers were called to a bus on Route d'Arlon after receiving reports of an altercation. Initial findings indicate that a man assaulted a female passenger. When other passengers intervened, a physical altercation ensued.
The suspect left the bus and fled into a nearby field, where he was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol.
As the man was intoxicated and posed a danger to himself, he was taken into protective custody to sober up following a medical examination. Police confirmed that a report was drawn up and that the investigation is ongoing.
