On Saturday 26 July 2025, the Grand Ducal Police broke up an unauthorised rave party in Heinerscheid (municipality of Clervaux in northern Luxembourg).
As previously announced, the police - in consultation with municipal officials - made the decision on Saturday afternoon to break up the illegal gathering.
To carry out the operation, around 120 officers from across the country were deployed to the site. Special units, including the canine unit, and a police helicopter were also brought in. An operational command post was set up at the national control centre for coordination purposes. The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) and the Nature and Forest Agency supported the police operation. Constant contact was maintained with the Diekirch Public Prosecutor's Office for potential judicial action.
Initial attempts to contact the organisers were unsuccessful, as no one came forward to identify themselves, and the attendees were reportedly "extremely uncooperative" and unwilling to end the party voluntarily. Around 17:00, police officers issued a firm loudspeaker announcement instructing all participants to leave the site immediately.
Most individuals complied with this request shortly thereafter, and the event began to disperse. The police remained on-site to ensure the full dissolution of the party.
Later that evening, around 21:00, the police decided to definitively break up the illegal event. A total of 90 officers gathered at the rave site to enforce this order. The authorities issued a final order via loudspeaker to leave the site immediately. All remaining attendees ultimately complied, and by 22:00, the site had been completely cleared.
During the operation, police made nineteen administrative detentions.
Two individuals resisted law enforcement and were officially reported for rebellion.
One attendee failed to produce a valid driver's licence.
In addition, several violations of Luxembourg's drug law were recorded. All drugs found were confiscated, and formal reports were filed.
Furthermore, all stage and sound equipment used for the rave, as well as the vehicles used to transport them, were confiscated on the orders of the Diekirch Public Prosecutor's Office for violating nature conservation laws.
