On the evening of Monday 6 January 2025, the College of Mayor and Aldermen and the Municipal Council of the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) held their New Year's staff reception at the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
The reception took place in the presence of VdL Mayor Lydie Polfer, VdL aldermen/alderwomen and members of the local council, as well as the President of the Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg's parliament), Claude Wiseler, and Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, Xavier Bettel. Other attendees included VdL employees, plus representatives of the Grand Ducal Police and the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
Mayor Lydie Polfer congratulated all the attendees, and drinks and appetisers were distributed during the event.
Approximately 600 people were in attendance.
