The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents of drink driving that occurred over the past weekend.
In the early hours of Sunday 8 December 2024, at around 01:30, a rear-end collision occurred near Rue de la Fontaine in Dudelange, in which a driver was slightly injured. The motorist received on-site treatment by the emergency services before being taken to hospital for a check-up. The other driver returned a positive alcohol test. The police drew up an accident report but did not confiscate the second driver's licence (alcohol result below 1.2‰).
However, four other drivers had to hand in their driving licences due to positive alcohol tests that same night. These incidents took place in Lamadelaine, Remich and Esch-sur-Alzette (in two cases).
