Prince Louis, born on 3 August 1986, the third child of Luxembourg’s Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, will celebrate his 38th anniversary this Saturday.

Born Prince Louis Xavier Marie Guillaume, Prince of Luxembourg, Prince of Nassau and Bourbon-Parma, has three brothers and one sister: Prince Guillaume, the Crown Prince; Prince Félix; Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastien.

He has two sons from his first marriage with Tessy Antony: Prince Gabriel Michael Louis Ronny, born in Geneva on 12 March 2006, and Prince Noah Etienne Guillaume Gabriel Matthias Xavier, born in Luxembourg on 21 September 2007.

Prince Louis attended primary school in Lorentzweiler before beginning secondary education at the American School of Luxembourg and Collège Alpin Beau Soleil in Switzerland, where he earned his diploma in June 2005. He is fluent in Luxembourgish, French, English, and German, with a good knowledge of Spanish.

During his studies in Switzerland, Prince Louis became interested in social and humanitarian work, participating in missions in Mumbai, India. He later worked with the Red Cross in Geneva in 2006 and in forestry management for the Administration of the Assets of Luxembourg’s Grand Duke in 2007. He studied at the Miami University Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg in 2008, then completed aeronautics training in the US, earning a private pilot license in 2011.

In 2014, Prince Louis obtained a degree in Communication from Richmond, the American International University in London, followed by a Master's in Psychosocial Studies from Birkbeck University in London. He has a deep understanding of dyslexia based on his personal experience and has trained with expert Béatrice Sauvageot; he shared his insights at the 2016 International Forum on Learning Disabilities.

Prince Louis is also a graduate mediator from the Université catholique de Paris, with an international certificate from the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). He worked as a consultant in Paris from 2017 to 2019 before founding his mediation company, SIBE Mediation, in 2020, which combines mediation with psychosocial and legal expertise.
