The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June 2026, a man was arrested in Ettelbruck in connection with a domestic violence case that led to a drug trafficking investigation, while two separate shoplifting incidents were reported in Luxembourg-Gare district.

According to the police, officers were called to Avenue des Alliés in Ettelbruck on Saturday morning following reports of domestic violence between partners. Upon arrival, they found both individuals injured and suffering from cuts. After receiving first aid at the scene, both were transported to hospital for further treatment.

Police noted that the man had also allegedly made death threats against his partner. Further investigations indicated that he could be connected to drug dealing.

Acting on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Sunday. The judge subsequently issued a detention order.

In a separate incident, police reported a shoplifting case at a supermarket in Luxembourg-Gare district on Sunday morning. According to initial information, two men allegedly stole several items from the store. Both suspects were located by a police patrol, which drew up a report and an immigration record.

Later that afternoon, officers responded to another shoplifting incident at a supermarket in the Gare district involving a man who had allegedly stolen food and drinks. The suspect was also located by a police patrol and a report was filed.
