Yellow Alert Issued for Hot Weather, Thunderstorms

Luxembourg's weather portal MeteoLux issued heat and thunderstorm warnings on Tuesday 9 July 2024.

A yellow ("potential danger") heat warning is in place for southern Luxembourg from 15:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 30 and 31 °C.

Similarly, a yellow warning for thunderstorms is in place across the country from 19:00 on Tuesday until 04:00 on Wednesday (10 July 2024). During this time, there is a risk of thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 80 km/h and hail. Cumulative rainfall of between 15 and 25 l/m² is possible "in a short time".
