Luxembourg's weather portal, MeteoLux, has issued nationwide orange and yellow weather warnings in relation to cold weather from Friday 19 January and throughout the weekend.
The orange warning (representing "danger") will be in place across the Grand Duchy from 22:00 on Friday until 11:00 on Saturday 20 January 2024. During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to fall to between -10°C and -13°C.
The yellow warning (representing "potential danger") will be in place across the Grand Duchy from 20:00 on Saturday until 00:00 on Sunday 21 January 2024. During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to fall to between -9°C and -6°C.
MeteoLux added that during the evening and at night on Friday, local roads may be slippery due to frost.
Update: on the afternoon of Saturday 20 January 2024, MeteoLux updated the orange warning, which will be in place across the Grand Duchy from 00:00 on Saturday to 11:00 on Sunday 21 January 2024. During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to fall to between -10°C and -13°C.
The yellow warning (representing "potential danger") will be in place across the Grand Duchy from 20:00 on Saturday until 07:00 on Sunday. During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to fall to between -9°C and -6°C.
