On Friday 12 January 2024, the Grand Ducal Police announced that fourteen-year-old Maria Carmila Hernandez Amaya has been missing since 3 January 2024.
The missing girl was last seen on Wednesday 3 January at around 22:00. She was described as being of slim build, between 1.50 and 1.60 metres tall and with black hair. She was wearing a red hoodie, black sweatpants, a black jacket and light grey Nike trainers at the time of her disappearance.
The police have appealed that if anyone has information that could be deemed useful about the missing girl, they should contact the Luxembourg Police Department via tel.: 244 40 1000 or via email: Police.LUXEMBOURG@police.etat.lu.
Update: The Grand Ducal Police have since confirmed that the missing person was found "safe and sound" on Tuesday 16 January 2024.
