The Integration Department of the Luxembourg Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region has announced the launch of a call for projects entitled "Promoting intercultural living together", aimed at funding projects that promote intercultural living together in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The 2024 call for projects has two main focuses, namely promoting the participation of cross-border workers and the development of model modules.
One of the innovations of the law on intercultural living together is that it applies to all people living or working in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Cross-border workers are now also covered by the implementation of this policy. In this context, the present call for projects aims to identify the needs in terms of participation of cross-border workers, and to propose activities promoting exchanges between cross-border workers and residents.
These projects focus on several key objectives, including conducting consultations, surveys, and needs analyses with the goal of fostering the active engagement of cross-border workers in the social and cultural life of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, particularly within the municipality where they are employed. Additionally, they aim to create initiatives that enable individuals to explore the country and encourage their active participation in the broader community of Luxembourg, with a specific emphasis on the municipality where they work. These endeavours are also geared towards facilitating connections and interactions among individuals who both reside and work within the Luxembourg community.
The law on intercultural living together also allows all people living and working in Luxembourg to join a Citizens' Pact that provides access to the programme for intercultural living together. The aim of this call is to fund projects that complement the programme by providing model modules. Preference will be given to projects that aim to create and form networks of multipliers and develop tools that facilitate the permanent use of the modules, as well as modules offered at a municipal or regional level.
Specifically, these projects should encompass several key areas, including the facilitation of a more profound comprehension of life in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, delving into its history and cultural heritage, upholding and promoting the core values of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Additionally, these projects should be geared towards championing a broad spectrum of social, economic, political and cultural activities, all while fostering and promoting active citizen participation in these endeavours.
The call for projects provides funding starting from €10,000 per project. Two information sessions will be held on Wednesday 15 November 2023 at 15:00 and Tuesday 12 December 2023 at 10:00. Details of the call for projects as well as the forms are available on the website www.famille.gouvernement.lu. Representatives of associations without direct links to political parties and trade unions, private organisations, public institutions, professional chambers and training institutes/research centres should confirm their participation at pan@integration.etat.lu, indicating which session they wish to attend.
The deadline for submitting project applications is 10 January 2024.
