On Friday 6 November 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a driver in Ehlerange for drink-driving despite two existing driving bans.

At around 01:45 on Thursday 5 November 2026, a police patrol spotted a vehicle overtaking another car at excessive speed on Route d'Esch in Ehlerange. Officers followed the vehicle and stopped it shortly afterwards on Rue de Sanem.

During the check, officers noticed clear signs of alcohol consumption and a breathalyser test returned a positive result.

The driver also admitted that he did not hold a valid driving licence. Further checks revealed that he was already subject to two driving bans and that both the vehicle's technical inspection certificate and road tax disc had expired.

Following the incident, the Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the driver's arrest. He appeared before an investigating judge later that day.
