Luxembourg's weather portal, MeteoLux, has upgraded its nationwide weather warning for thunderstorms on Tuesday 12 September 2023 from yellow (potential danger) to orange (danger).
This orange weather warning will remain in place across the Grand Duchy from 17:00 to 22:00 on Tuesday. MeteoLux warned of a risk of strong thunderstorms, with the possibility of hail (under 1cm), very heavy rain (35 l/m² in an hour) and very strong wind (80 km/h), throughout the country.
The weather warning will be downgraded once again to yellow from 22:00 on Tuesday to midnight on Wednesday 13 September 2023. During this period, there will be a risk of moderate to potentially virulent thunderstorms accompanied by hail, heavy rain and strong gusts of wind throughout the country.
