On Tuesday 13 June 2023, the Grand Duke presented the "Digital Inclusion Prize 2023" to seven winners, in the presence of Marc Hansen, Minister Delegate for Digitalisation.
This award ceremony followed the call for projects launched by the Ministry of Digitalisation in January 2023 for the financing of projects promoting digital inclusion, as provided for in the National Digital Inclusion Action Plan.
The seven winners of the Digital Inclusion Award 2023 and their respective projects are:
Take the Lead − Self-promotion in a digital world (Touchpoints ASBL): The project involves setting up workshops and support sessions for refugees and third-country nationals to encourage the use of ICT interfaces and support them in setting up a business in Luxembourg.
Kritesch denken a respektvoll matdiskutéieren − Participating respectfully in debates on social networks (Respect.lu ASBL): The project plans to work with people who have come forward for hate speech on social media. These take part in the “Dialogue instead of hating” program at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office. This project thus plans to set up an interactive online training which will address the critical points and thus allow participants to acquire the skills necessary to participate in a respectful manner in online societal discourse.
Internetcafé fir Senioren (Doheem Versuergt − Help and care service of the Luxembourg Red Cross): The aim is to enable the population aged 50 and over in Redange-sur-Attert, Esch-sur-Alzette, Beidweiler and Wasserbillig to participate in the digital world by offering them two-dimensional access: access to and understanding of the foundations of digital world through appropriate support activities and at decentralized locations and the creation of four “Internet-Café fir Senioren” access points equipped with ICT.
AutismConnect Luxembourg Building Inclusion – ALBI (RubixPotential SARL): The project aims to create a social application specially adapted for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The project offers digital access to an application in two languages (German and French), for people with autism, teachers and work colleagues.
Data Studio (LuxData SA): This project aims to promote data analytics to professionals and the general public through workshops, campaigns and an annual competition. The objective is to organise monthly reconditioning workshops in order to train and support participants in data analysis. The reconditioning workshops will be complemented by parallel workshops with tips and tricks and best practices. An annual competition will end with the designation of the “Data Studio Champion of Luxembourg”.
Video-Tutorials zur Förderung von digitalen Kompetenzen in der nachberuflichen Lebensphase (GoldenMe ASBL): GoldenMe offers to create professional video tutorials to be broadcast on social networks and aimed at people in the post-professional phase of their lives. In terms of content, these videos should address different digital themes. These include how to protect against online cyberattacks (secure password, phishing/fraud emails), how QR codes work, how to pay online, etc.
Hands-on digital programming workshops – Prototype innovative ideas for your business (House of training/LIST): The project consists of offering companies practical digital programming workshops to familiarize participants with programming (develop digital literacy and basic digital skills in programming) and thus allow them to imagine how to digitalize their activity.
All project presentations are available as videos on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Digitalization.
