On Friday 20 June 2025, the Luxembourg Horticultural Federation (Fédération Horticole Luxembourgeoise - FHL) hosted a welcoming event at the FHL Gardens in the Parc Fondation Pescatore in Luxembourg-Ville.

The event, attended by Luxembourg Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, Martine Hansen, First Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, Maurice Bauer, FHL President, Ernest Brandenburger, and LUGA General Coordinator, Ann Muller, was hosted by FHL Administrative Manager, Josiane Walentiny. It featured speeches on the eight garden areas established in the park as part of the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) programme, which contain a variety of plants, flowers and vegetables planted alongside a mix of structures and furniture and highlighted the work of the designers responsible for their creation.

According to the FHL, the purpose of the garden installations is to “underscore the strength, diversity and innovation of Luxembourg’s horticultural sector” and each display was created under a sponsorship model, funded entirely by the companies involved in their creation.

The displays installed are:

⁃             “Pergola Bionique“ by Plantations Weisen (Wickrange);

⁃             “Bléihend Oase mat séissen Iwwerraschungen“ by Bamschoul Becker (Steinsel);

⁃             “Verdure en trois temps: une réponse du climat de demain“, by Mon Jardin (Dippach);

⁃             “MILPA” by Netzwierk Agroökologie (Luxembourg);

⁃             “Une nature collective” by Paysages Wagener-Kox & Pépinière (Tuntange);

⁃             “E”ntre terre & ciel“ by Gillen (Tandel);

⁃             “Voir et s’apercevoir by Verda Landschaftsbau (Sanem);

⁃             “Barriere, meist stehst du dir selbst im Weg!“ by Gartenbau LEUFGEN (Weiswampach).

During a series of short speeches, Ernest Brandenburger described the project as “a recognition of the commitment and creativity of the eight gardeners” involved in its creation.

Alderman Bauer congratulated the FHL on its “know-how, expertise and competence” and the success of “this fantastic project” and thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture for its cooperation in the project.

Minister Hansen spoke of the “success” of the garden and thanked all of those involved the initiative.

Each of the designers in the project was presented with gift bags in celebration of their work, before the event continued with a “Meet the Creators” walk, where attendees had the opportunity to discover each garden and engage directly with the designers involved in the project.

The event concluded guests and attendees enjoying food and refreshments provided by the organisers.

The FHL Gardens will remain open to visitors until Saturday 18 October 2025 as part of the ongoing LUGA exhibition.
