The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, on Friday 1 April 2022, they discovered a large number of cannabis plants in an apartment in Esc-sur-Alzette.
The discovery came about following a report of a water leak in a block of apartments in the town on Friday afternoon; upon entry to the apartment from where the water was coming, police officers found that a cannabis plantation had been established in the apartment. In total there were around 170 cannabis plants on site, as well as numerous cannabis-growing utensils.
As a result, a large quantity of cannabis, seeds, a gas pistol, a brass knuckle-duster, a large sum of cash and other paraphernalia were seized in the course of further searches that had been ordered.
The tenant of the apartment was arrested by order of the public prosecutor's office and brought before a judge on Saturday, who ordered that he de detained until his trial
