The Luxembourg government has confirmed that Romain Schneider, Minister of Social Security, has temporarily assumed the responsibilities of Minister of Health whilst Paulette Lenert recovers from illness.

On Thursday 25 March 2021, the Ministry of Health reported that Health Minister Paulette Lenert had been unwell and was briefly hospitalised. The ministry confirmed that she would take a break from her ministerial duties whilst she focused on recovering at home for a few days.

A grand ducal decree has now given Social Security Minister Romain Schneider the power to act as Health Minister from 8 to 18 April 2021 inclusive. The decree, issued on Friday 2 April 2021, noted that Minister Paulette Lenert was "temporarily unable to administer the ministerial functions for which she is responsible".
