Seven people were evacuated on Sunday after a fire broke out in a three-story residential building in Schuttrange.

At around 00:30 on Sunday 13 December 2015, a passer-by noticed smoke coming from a residential building along Rue Principale. Fire brigades from Schuttrange, Niederanven, Hesperange and Luxembourg arrived on the scene to put out the fire, which has spread across the first floor of a three-story residential building, inhabited by four families and the offices of a company.

One woman was reported to have been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation. A total of seven people were evacuated and temporatily housed by local authorities in Schuttrange.

Specialists within the criminal investigation department were reportedly on the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
