Fines in Luxembourg for parking illegally in parking spaces assigned for disabled people are to be increased to €145 in a deterrent; currently the fines are €24 or €74, depending on the offense.

This concerns in particular the following offenses: parking in a space reserved for vehicles used to transport people with disabilities; illegal use of a parking disc.

On Friday, the Luxembourg's government cabinet agreed to this change as well as another to the Grand Ducal Regulation of 26 August 1993, concerning non-resident drivers whereby powers will be increased to enable vehicles to be impounded and licence points applied, for violating traffic legislation.
