Just before 20.15 on Sunday 15 November 2015, a taxi driver was robbed by two passengers he was taking to the French border.
The taxi driver had picked up the two men from Belvaux and was headed in the direction of Hussigny when one of the passengers seated behind him informed the driver that he was feeling unwell and asked him to stop the vehicle a few hundred metres from the French border. The supposedly ill passenger then put a gun to the driver's head and demanded that he hand over his wallet, smartphone and GPS navigator. The perpetrators then headed to a vehicle that was waiting for them and fled in the direction of the French border.
The taxi driver, who was in shock following the incident and was taken to hospital, provided the following descriptions of the perpetrators:
- Man N°1: 1.70-75 metres tall, thought to be of Mediterranean/North African origin, with a thin black moustache and a black balaclava, grey knee-length coat, dark cargo trousers. He wore a silver ring on his right hand and kept a black handgun in the inside pocket of his jacket.
- Man N°2: 1.85-90 metres tall, clean-shaven with a large, powerful frame. Also thought to be of Mediterranean/North African origin, wearing a black balaclava, and black bomber jacket.
Both men reportedly spoke French, as well as a language that the driver was unable to recognise.
