A pedestrian was tragically killed yesterday evening after being hit by a car along the Helfent-Bertange road, direction Dippach.
The incident occurred at around 20:35 yesterday evening, approximately one kilometre from the town of Dippach. A motorist driving from the direction of Luxembourg was unable to avoid the pedestrian, resulting in a head-on collision.
The pedestrian was thrown by the force of the impact through the front windscreen and the gravity of his injuries meant that he died at the scene before emergency services could reach him. The driver was not injured.
The Police reported that they had not been able to ascertain the identity of the victim. The police records department continued scouring the scene shortly after midday today in order to survey the scene with the use of 3D scanners.
