The Fire Department, City Ambulance Service, and Grand Ducal Police were called out to Tawioun last Thursday after heavy rains caused several stones to break away from a cliff face.

After emergency services had secured the area, the office in charge of geological studies and the Services du patrimoine naturel et de la circulation also visited the area to assess the situation and implement any necessary measures.

Although a cliff railing was damaged and the street was obstructed, nobody was harmed during the incident. However, the area was closed off to all traffic, including pedestrians, whilst the region was considered at risk to more potential rock falls.

A company specialising in securing cliffs will begin the securing and storage process in the area early this week.
