On 16 September 2015, a full-scale exercise was carried out in the new 'Stafelter' tunnel on the A7 motorway between Lorentzweiler and Waldhof.
The purpose of the exercise was to test the equipment and functionality of the tunnel and in so doing give the emergency, fire, police and Civil engineering services the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the tunnel under realistic conditions.
The exercise was organised by the Civil Engineering Administration in collaboration with the Grand Ducal Police, the Emergency Services Administration, professional firefighters, regional fire brigades and the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines as an observer.
