The Luxembourgish army has contributed to the government's reception of refugees by giving away a large batch of furniture to the Office Luxembourgeois de l'Accueil et de l'Intégration (OLAI).

The furniture will be used to equip a former speech therapy centre in Strassen which is preparing to host 300 asylum seekers. The centre received 210 beds and 200 wardrobes, as well as 43 tables and 167 stools from the Luxembourgish army, which delivered the furniture to the site.

50 Syrian refugees first arrived in Luxembourg on 8 September 2015 from Baden-Württemberg in Germany, accompanied by supervising staff from OLAI. OLAI handles the reception, accommodation, administrative assistance, social monitoring and relocation of new families, as well as child supervision. It currently supports around 2,000 people.
