A motorist was left with serious injuries yesterday morning during a three-way collision on the A13 motorway.
At around 07:00 on the morning of Tuesday 8 September 2015, a lorry, a car and a van all collided with one another on the A13 motorway just before the Hellange roundabout.
The car was stationary behind the lorry, which was also at a standstill due to congestion in the right-hand lane. A van driver, who the Grand Ducal Police reported was not focusing full attention on the road at the time, crashed headlong into the car, driving the front of the latter under the back of the lorry.
The emergency services of Luxembourg and Bettembourg, as well as the Volunteer Fire Department of Frisange and Bettembourg, arrived on the scene. Whilst lorry and van drivers escaped relatively unscathed, the driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Towing and clearing actions were in place at the scene, blocking the route until around 10:00.
