Motorists driving on the Foetz-Mondercange roundabout on the afternoon of Monday 7 September 2015 were in for quite the surprise when a small white dog jumped out of a moving car through an open window.
The canine had been trying to climb out of the car and finally succeeded as its owner was circling the roundabout. The animal landed on the other side of the road in front of the wheels of a police patrol motorbike, narrowly avoiding being run over.
The disoriented 'stunt dog' was captured and taken to the side of the road before he could attempt to escape. A first examination showed that the dog seemed unharmed but had perhaps sustained bruises during its death-defying leap.
The dog's owner, meanwhile, had not initially noticed her pet fleeing, but soon came to a stop a few hundred metres away after realising the dog was no longer in the car. The woman drove back to the roundabout to receive her adventurous pet with open arms.
