On Friday 21 August 2015, Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer inaugurated the opening of the 2015 Schueberfouer.

Rides were already in motion and crowds forming as Mayor Polfer opened the 675th edition of the Schueberfouer. After speeches, the traditional parade of beribboned sheep began around the 185 rides and 89 stalls of the Schueberfouer.

Spirits were high as Mayor Polfer herself tried out the old and new rides to the fair and those that have made a comeback in 2015. First to be experienced was the traditional Carrousel Galopant, a firm favourite since it began as one of the first fairground attractions. The ride has been owned by François Kopp for over 100 years, and its originality continues to be respected by the Kopp family.

Next on the itinerary was the new Shake and Roll, similar in style to the Shake attraction. Shake & Roll will be perfect for thrill seekers, involving cars picking up speed around a circuit as they turn on loops and are thrown up and down on their axis.

Mayor Polfer also braved the new Wilde Maus XXL ride, 585 metres of roller coaster track with top speeds of 60 km/h. Even before fair-goers climb into the roller coaster ride they get to try out new fun elements such as suspension bridges and shifting floors.

Other comeback rides available this year include Avenger, Power Tower 2, Happy Sailor, Rotor and Après Ski Party. The Schueberfouer will be open from 11:00 until 01:00 on weekdays and Sunday, and from 11:00 until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays until Wednesday 9 September 2015.
