On Wednesday 28 June 2023, the Dutch Ambassador to Luxembourg, Cees Bansema, hosted the official opening of a Garden Art Exhibition in the grounds of his residence (Bricherhaff, 138 Rue des Muguets, L-1267 Weimershof).

The Garden Art Exhibition is organised by the Luxembourg European Academy of Arts and will be open to the public on Thursday 29 June until Saturday 1 July 2023, between 15:00-19:00 on Thursday and Friday, 14:00-17:00 (free entry) on Saturday. Guided tours are being offered at 15:30 on the two weekdays, and at 14:30 on Saturday.

During the opening event, which was held in warm overcast conditions, Ambassador Bansema thanked the 40-strong group for attending and stated that he was delighted to welcome the President and Vice-President of the academy on the occasion of this second version of the exhibition since he arrived in Luxembourg. With a large garden, he is delighted it can be put to good use.

Egberdien van der Peijl of the Dutch Embassy also spoke in English and explained how the works of art were installed, including ensuring a balance throughout, emphasising that such issues would be addressed during the guided tours.

The Vice-President of the academy, Bashkim Ha, spoke (in French) and thanked the artists for their work and creativity, also for being present. He also thanked the Dutch Ambassador for hosting the exhibition.

Art from a total of 24 artists is on display throughout the extensive grounds of the residence, many printed on all-weather "calicos" and others free-standing sculptures.

The academy was founded in 1998 and currently has 65 active members.
