Konschthal Esch, a new contemporary art space in Esch-sur-Alzette, will open its doors to the public on 2 and 3 October 2021.

The opening of this new art gallery, which takes place in the framework of Esch2022 - European Capital of Culture, features three inaugural exhibitions and various activities open to all.

A former furniture store, the City of Esch-sur-Alzette acquired this building in 2020 to transform it into "Konschthal Esch - Espace d’art contemporain". The transformation of the building is ongoing until mid-2022, but, alongside the works, the exhibitions will be on display from October this year. With a total area of nearly 2400m2, this new art space is spread across four floors.

The Konschthal Esch is designed as a platform for productions and exhibitions for contemporary visual arts. It will host both international contributions and local productions, while providing a place for socio-cultural exchanges on current issues and their repercussions in today's art world.

Over the next few months, the Konschthal will be planning a whole series of exhibitions that explore a central theme: transformation. Through its exhibitions and activities, the Konschthal will explore various forms of contemporary art.

During the opening weekend, access is completely free and the CovidCheck system will apply. Drinks and snacks will be available on site.
