The Sofronis Arts Gallery is hosting Carole Solvay’s exhibition “Le dard de la douceur” between 24 November 2016 and 15 January 2017, on Fridays and Saturdays from 14:00 to 18:00.
Carole Solvay’s exhibition combines dramatic and theatrical effects, a show of shadows which portrays lightness, balance and sweetness. Solvay uses cut, wounded or amputated feathers to portray her art. She also uses mythological figures and symbols in her works, such as the spider.
The artist first got rid of the pen and then the anecdote, developing her work in a more aerial and less figurative way; she has kept only the essential materials which she has carefully chosen. Her art form is silent, allowing for reflection and meditation.
Visits to the exhibition can also be made by appointment.
