Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance has reported that Finance Minister Gilles Roth travelled to Bratislava as part of a working visit to Slovakia on Monday 20 May 2024.
Minister Roth met with his Slovak counterpart Ladislav Kamenický and the two finance ministers discussed current issues at European level as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ministry added that Minister Roth expressed the Luxembourg government's best wishes for the recovery of Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was shot in an assassination attempt last week. "Luxembourg considers that acts of violence such as those that occurred on 15 May have no place in our democratic societies," read the statement.
During his working visit, Minister Roth also met with the President of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peter Mihók.
