On Wednesday 23 March 2022, the third and final day of their working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Discussions between the Luxembourg delegation and Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince focused in particular on Syria and the Russia-Ukraine war.

Grand Duke Henri and Minister Jean Asselborn also travelled to Sharjah on Wednesday. After a meeting with the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, they visited the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, which traces the evolution of Islamic culture through 5,000 exhibitions, most of which come from the private collection of Sheikh Al Qasimi.
